Western Cape police together with other Law Enforcement agencies are conducting crime prevention initiatives in Eersterivier to combat gang violence and to stabilise and restore calm to the area. This comes as two men – aged 20 and 25 - were fatally shot and a 16-year-old boy wounded in Warwick Crescent, Stratford Green, on Sunday morning.

‘’Kleinvlei police were called to the crime scene where
they found the victims with gunshot wounds to their bodies. The 20 and 25-year-old
victims were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the 16
year old victim was taken to a medical facility for treatment. According to reports,
the victims were standing in the road when a white vehicle drove up to them and
one of the occupants of the vehicle opened fire on them before fleeing the
scene,’’ said Sergeant Wesley Twigg, Western Cape police spokesperson.
Police have opened murder and attempted murder cases for
investigation.
