Patriotic Alliance leader Gayton McKenzie served as mayor of the Central Karoo
District Municipality. While the investigation has drawn attention to events

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has urged full cooperation
with investigators. DA spokesperson Dave Bryant says McKenzie should provide

Section 106 investigations are conducted under the
Municipal Systems Act and are typically launched when there are allegations of
financial misconduct, maladministration, or governance failures within a
