Khayelithsa station to get rail extension

Today transport minister Jeff Radebe will launch a rail extension, at the Khayelitsha railway station which is expected to be open by the end of next year.

The launch of the rail extension is to help address unemployment in the area.

SA Rail Commuter Corporation spokesperson Pule Mabe told that the Cape Times that they had negotiated with the representatives of the settlement and moved 200 nearby communities to make way for the line extension.

Today’s event is part of the National Public Transport month.
