Two armed robberies of tourist groups in Langa this week, were carefully planned raids, police told tourism authorities.
This was revealed as top-level meetings got underway today to seek ways t protect tourists – while details emerged of a third such attack this week on tourists, this time in Sea Point.
Incoming Cape Town routes Unlimited head Sheryl Ozinsky met police in Langa yesterday morning.
Meanwhile, the City of Cape Town announced yesterday that it would ask for all tour groups to be accompanied by police or metro police with immediate effect.
Makaya Mani, spokesperson for Safety and Security Minister Leonard Ramatlakane, said yesterday that it doesn’t augur well for the minister by permitting these attacks on foreigners.
