The body of a man was found floating in the Black River on Thursday morning.
“On arrival police noticed the body floating in the river and immediately organised all relevant experts to attend the scene and the body was taken out by Metro Emergency services,” says police spokesperson Captain Elliot Siyangana.
He says the man is believed to be in his fifties and was dressed in a blue pants, blue shirt, brown diamond jersey and a pair of takkies.
“At this stage we cannot tell what the cause of the death was but the deceased’s body has bruises on the forehead,” says Siyangana.
The police are appealing to anyone who has a male next of kin in his fifties, who has failed to return home or anyone with information to contact Detective Constable Benson Ngqentsu on 021 689 1304 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
