Police have arrested three passengers, who arrived on flight from South America at the Cape Town International Airport.
“The suspects were taken by police to a local hospital where X-rays were conducted,” says police spokesperson Inspector Bernadine Steyn.
Steyn says the three suspects had a total of about and half kilograms of Cocaine in the form of bullets, in their stomachs with an estimated street value of about R3 million.
“Two of the suspects, a 36 year-old man from Pretoria and a 21 year-old female from Cape Town, were discharged from hospital on Friday morning and are currently detained in police cells. The third suspect, a 65 year-old Peruvian citizen, is still in hospital under police guard,” says Steyn.
