Police attacks need to be stopped

In the Western Cape the South African Police Service has been concerned about recent attacks on police members whilst executing their duties.

Police urge the Western Cape Communities to report any information of planned activities on SAPS members as they go out to different to ensure safety and security.

“In the past weekend alone at Mfuleni, a member was attacked by two male’s people who are suspected in a murder. They stabbed him 5 times and he managed to draw his fire arm and shot the men,” says Captain Elliot Sinyangana

In Nyanga at the weekend police members observed a BMW vehicle that was reported as being hi-jacked at Pinelands area.

“They persued the vehicle and occupants in that vehicle started firing shots at them. The members returned fire wounding one suspect and the other suspects managed to run away,” says Sinyangana.
