Nineteen suspects were arrested yesterday morning when an operation was carried out by police at several residences in Grassy Park, Lotus River and Wynberg.

“The arrests followed after investigations were done at African Bank relating to incidents where applicants applied for personal loans, ranging from R5 000 to R36 000. The applications were done with fraudulent-ID’s, salary slips and other documentation with a total value of about R90 000, “says police spokesperson Bernadine Steyn.

Six female suspects appeared in court yesterday while the other thirteen male suspects are to appear today in the Wynberg Magistrates court.
