On Wednesday morning hugs, kisses and tears of joy filled the Mountain Road Primary School grounds as students and teachers returned after the December holidays.
“We did all preparations we needed to do last year, as we made sure that children have all their stationary,” says Clinton Spencer, principal at Mountain Road Primary School.
According to Spencer the registration process was also completed last year.
“Our teachers are well prepared for the new curriculum as we’ve sent them for training and we also did house training. I will urge students, teachers and parents to embrace the new curriculum,” he added.
“It’s been quiet hectic, but everything is going well and I hope we will have a good year,” says Deshni Moodley a teacher at Mountain Road Primary.
However, Spencer says things were bit tough for them and the situation saw them employ one teacher on the eve of the school opening.
Meanwhile students and parents say they are well prepared for the new school curriculum.
