The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) says a Israeli women who was swimming at the Robberg 4 beach in Plettenberg Bay had a near drowning experience but was luckily seen waving for help by a local resident in the area.
“An NSRI rescue craft was on the water conducting a routine training exercise and was diverted to the scene while rescue swimmers, crew and 3 NSRI station doctors responded directly to the scene,” says NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon.
Lambinon says Rifka Kedron and a man found helping her were both treated by NSRI rescuers.
“The woman received treatment for exhaustion and near drowning symptoms and she was stabilised on the scene and transported to the Plettenberg Bay Medi-Clinic in a stable condition,” said Lambinon.
