Approximately 50 toddlers from Happy Valley near Blue Downs will be the lucky recipients of a new crèche which opens its doors in the area on Tuesday.
The Happy Feet crèche which will be housed in a wendy house has been donated by Pallet Supply.
The building has been specially fitted to specific requirements and is positioned in a safety fenced property in Happy Valley.
The crèche will be staffed by four early childhood educators who have been trained by the City of Cape Town.
“The project was initiated by the city in association with the Blackheath City Improvement District, in response to a lack of facilities in the area,” says ward councillor Pieter van Dalen, in a statement.
“We believe that it by educating children from an early stage, we empower them to become the leaders of tomorrow,” says van Dalen.
