Supects appear in court after drug bust

Three suspects appeared in the Strand Magistrates Court on Monday, after police arrested them this past weekend for the illegal possession of drugs.

The men who appeared in court this morning all face charges of possession of drugs, dealing in drugs and the possession of stolen property.

According to police the confiscated drugs has an estimated street value of more than R20 000.
The incident occurred when a 32-year-old man was pulled over in Fagan Street, Strand on

Saturday evening. Police then searched the suspect’s vehicle and confiscated tik and cocaine.

"From the scene we went to the suspect’s house in 16th Avenue, Strand. The house was searched and tik, ecstasy, cocaine and mandrax was found in the kitchen," says police spokesperson Bernadine Steyn.

"Two of the men aged 29 and 30 were arrested at the house.We also confiscated DVD players, cell phones, a laptop and cash," says Steyn.
