On Wednesday evening Santos is taking on defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Super Stadium in Atteridgeville, Pretoria. They will be contending for a spot in the top three on the Absa Premiership log.
Spokesperson for Santos Rodney Reiners says that the team is doing well at present as they have had five wins in a row.
“The expectations are quite positive as we are in great form at the moment. From the coach and all the players, all we expect is that they go out there and do their best, and I’m sure the results will follow,” says Reiners.
When asked who he thinks would be the player from the Sundowns team Santos felt was its greatest competition, Reiners said: “Sundowns has got lots of quality players, you wouldn’t be able to pick out one of them as they’ve got a whole range of quality players that could probably turn a game on its head.”
He however said Godfrey Sapula would have to be the one player in the Sundowns team that Santos saw as a ‘danger man’.
The game kicks off at 19:30.
