Two men were taken into custody following a car hijacking in Grassy Park on Monday where four men threatened a 29-year-old man who was parking in Goudblom Avenue.
According to police spokesperson Billy Jones the gang took off with the man’s car, money and a bag containing cellphone airtime vouchers.
“When the police were contacted an urgent alert was issued and officers patrolling in Ottery saw the stolen vehicle. The officers then gave chase and two of the men were caught at a shop nearby,” says Jones.
The suspects aged 22 and 32 is appearing in the Wynberg Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Jones adds that the two other suspects are still on the run and anyone who has information is requested to call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
