Proteas batsman AB de Villiers followed in the footsteps of Dale Steyn and Hashim Amla in the second test against India taking his test career to another level by scoring a brilliant double century.
The energetic player's double century helped South Africa put on a competitive 418 lead in their first innings making circumstances difficult for the home side in their efforts to win South Africa.
De Villiers together with fellow batsman Jacque Kallis put on a 5th wicket partnership of 256 with Kallis making his sixth test century for the 2007-08 season
"This is right up there with my best innings for South Africa," says de Villiers.
de Villiers is the first South African to have scored a double century against India.
"I think in this case the double hundred and the partnership with Jacques has gone a long way to ive us a platform to strike for victory and hopefully we can finish the job.
