Proteas and Nashua Cape Cobras star batsman Herschelle Gibbs was found guilty by Cricket South Africa yesterday of contravening the code of conduct of Cricket South Africa.
According to Cricket South Africa’s Moabi Litheko Gibbs was found guilty of breaching clause 1.4 of Cricket South Africa’s code of conduct.
“Gibbs was severely reprimanded for his action and reaction following his appearance in Johannesburg today (Wednesday) before Cricket South Africa’s Disciplinary Commissioner, Advocate Michael Kuper,” says Litheko.
Gibbs was reprimanded because of a gesture he had made to a fan in the Pro20 Series match played between the Nashua Cape Cobras and Nashua Dolphins on Newlands in Cape Town on 26 March 2008.
