The Western Cape Health Department will be hosting a sector Imbizo on managing Turbeculosis on Monday, the 7th of April. It will take place at Brooklyn Chest Hospital with organised stakeholders such as business labour, civil society, parastatals, municipalities and members of the public.
“TB is one of the biggest burdens of disease facing our communities in the Western Cape. The provincial government has embarked on actions to curtail the spread of the disease and minimise the infection rate amongst our people,” says the Department’s Faiza Steyn.
Steyn adds that those participating in the Imbizo, will have the opportunity to discuss these interventions and make recommendations on how to improve on these efforts.
This Imbizo forms part of the national and provincial government of the Western Cape’s Imbizo focus week that will be running from 7-14 April 2008.
