Cape Town and DA leader Hellen Zille has told people of Khaye litsha to be part of Cape Town, as she saw that many people did not think Khayelitsha is no longer a part of Cape Town.
.Hellen Zille encouraged the people of Khayelitsha after its was announced that the township is going to host its first annual festival in the 24 to 26 October . The festival which is will be hosted for the first time, will feauture dancing, fashion shows, arts, crafts and other performances ad it also mark Khayelitsha’s 25th anniversary.
Joan Daries area manger of hope said that the programme will teach young children to be skilful in business and will develop the area.
She added that the programme will develop infastrucutre and that most people have negative concepts about Khayelitsha and what they do not see is the sustainable development in the area.
Adele Lucas Promotions director Toby Chance said that the project “will bring together small businesses and that they want to stimulate economic activity in Khayelitsha” and that they show the world what are they capable of.
