At 4am a driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into seven shacks in Eisleben Road, Nyanga. Seven people were injured and a child died. City of Cape Town’s Disaster Management Wilfred Solomons says “at this point in time it is unconfirmed what caused the accident, but police are investigating the incident.”
Solomons also said that Disaster Management is providing the affected families and community with building material and the necessary disaster relief, as well as trauma counselling.
