The South African ambassador to Washington Derrick Moyo has passed away after a long illness.
He passed away in Lewis Patchier hospital in Johannesburg on Wednesday on 10 September 2008.
Moyo is describing as a person who loved his country. He spent many years in exile fighting for freedom and justice. He then studied in the United Stated specialised courses in diplomacy.
Foreign Affairs spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said that on behalf of the South African government and president Mbeki we send our deepest condolences to the Moyo family and his children.
He added that, Moyo will be solely missing .
South Africa has lost one of its greatest son’s.
