Uganda’s Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed to Foreign Affairs that a South African had been among the 11 people killed in a plane disaster yesterday.
The cargo plane crashed into Lake Victoria after taking off from Kampala’s Entebbe Airport.
It was carrying supplies for Ugandan peace keepers in Somalia. All 11 people on board were killed. Among the other victims were Ugandans, three Burundians and the four Russian crew members.
According to a report, the South African’s identity will be released later.
