The Independent Complaints Directorate will later today meet with Western Cape provincial police to discuss the case involving 15 members of the organised crime unit who are being investigated for murder.
At the meeting, directorate investigators are expected to hand over documents to the police that may help them decide whether the 15 suspects who are based at Bellville South police station will be suspended.
The recommendation was made six days after Sidwell Mkwambi was found dead in the back of a police van on February 16.
