South African Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Fatima Hajaig held bilateral political, economic and trade discussions with her Iraqi counterpart Iraqi Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs Labeed Abbawi at the Union Buildings in Pretoria yesterday.
The aim of yesterday’s discussion was to strengthen South Africa’s ties with Iraq.
Hajaig said the meeting was a success.
“There are a number of things which are common to Iraq and South Africa and that increases the basis of our co-operation.”
South Africa has also agreed to share the experience and knowledge gained from of our Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
