ER24 paramedics were called out to an accident scene, where one person died and two were injured.
The accident occurred on Baden Powell drive, between the N2 and Adam Tas drive.
ER24 spokesperson for the Western Cape, Tristan Wadeley said it’s alleged that the Toyota bakkie, with the three people on board was being chased by police when the accident occurred.
“One person was declared dead on arrival of emergency services, the other two sustained moderate injuries and were taken under police guard by ER24 and Metro EMS ambulances to Stellencbosch Provincial Hospital.”
A police vehicle also sustained damage during the pursuit. One police officer was taken by ER24 ambulance to Stellenbosch Medi-Clinic for further assessment.
It was not clear to paramedics on the scene what caused the bakkie to roll. SAPS, Fire Department and Metro Rescue were also in attendance
