The City of Cape Town's Disaster Risk Management Centre is on high alert as heavy rainfall lashes the City.
A well developed cold front warning was issued by Disaster Risk Management yesterday. The severe weather conditions are expected to bring gale force winds,rough seas and cold, wet weather.
Charlotte Powell of Disaster Risk Management says: " We will monitor these conditions and we will be able to activate our response in case of any emergency."
Members of the public should are advised to avoid going close to piers and promenades on the coastal zones of the Atlantic Seaboard, Sea Point/Mouille Point area, the False Bay coastline and Strand/Gordon’s Bay area.
The severe weather conditions are expected to clear up by Saturday.
Flooding, blocked drains and service disruptions can be reported to the City’s all hours Technical Operations Centre at 0860 103 054.
