The beleaguered Bafana Bafana coach Joel Santana has resigned.
Under his leadership, the national team lost eight of their nine matches.
The executive of the South African Football Federation met in Johannesburg today, but it is not yet clear whether Santana tendered his resignation at the meeting.
Rumours have been rife that former coach Carlos Alberto Parreira
who had recommended Santana to take his place may be persuaded to return.
