Currie Cup fever has gripped the country with fans preparing for a bumper rugby day today. Today’s first semi-final match will start at half past three when the title holding Sharks take on the Cheetahs in Durban.
At five pm Western Province will take on archrivals the Blue Bulls at Newlands for a spot in the final. Western Province booked their home semi-final despite a loss to the Xerox Lions last week.
The last time the Cape hosted a home semi-final was in 2004 against the Vodacom Cheetahs. A surprising number of critics are however tipping a Blue Bulls-Free State Currie Cup final in Pretoria.
