Deputy Health Minister Molefi Sefularo says four people have died of measles since an outbreak earlier this year.
Speaking in Pretoria today, Sefularo said three of the deaths had been lab oratory confirmed.
A 56-year-old woman died of measles in Mpumalanga. The other three deaths were those of three children aged seven months, two years and four years.
Sefularo said 940 cases were confirmed by the 13th of this month and nearly 100 percent were in Gauteng.
Sefularo said in 2008 there were 39 cases compared to the current 940.
