The consumer price index remained within the Reserve Bank’s target range in November.
Statistics South Africa says inflation rose just under the upper target limit of six-percent, to five-point-eight-percent last month.
The figure in October was five-point-nine-percent.
Stats SA also says employment in the formal, non-agricultural business sector decreased between the quarters ended June and September this year.
The September 2009 Quarterly Employment Statistics survey showed that the number of people employed in the sector decreased by about 79-thousand.
The survey estimates that the sector employed just more than eight-million people. This reflects an annual decrease of about 328-thousand employees.
