Former Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang’s special official funeral service will take place at the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart in Pretoria today.
Tshabalala-Msimang died last week from complications related to a liver transplant.
Her body will be cremated at the Benoni crematorium later today.
The former Health Minister has been praised for sacrificing her life to the struggle for freedom during memorial services held in Pretoria and Durban yesterday.
President Kgalema Motlanthe who addressed mourners at the Pretoria City Hall said Tshabalala-Msimang gave her adult life to the service of humanity.
He said Tshabalala-Msimang’s death marks the end of a chapter in the history of the struggle.
