A City of Cape Town Blue Flag beach,Mnandi near Mitchells Plain , has been described as one of the cleanest beaches in the country, thanks to its hard-working beach cleaning staff.
A recent control visit inspection to the beach by Blue Flag co-ordinators found the beach is in full compliance with international standards of excellence for safety, amenities, cleanliness, environmental information and environmental management.
Freddie Prince, Acting Director of Sport, Recreation and Amenities for the City of Cape Town says Mnandi beach is one of the most popular beaches in the Cape Peninsula.
During the summer peak season it attracts over 60 000 beach-goers and at times more than
6 000 per day.
