The official funeral service of former Health Minister Dr Manto Tshabalala Msimang is underway at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral Church in Pretoria.
Family, friends and colleagues of Tshabalala Msimang are in attendance.
Family friend Sophie De Bruyn referred to Tshabalala Msimang as a daughter of the revolution and spoke of her discipline and commitment to the struggle.
The former minister died last week complications related to her liver transplant.
After the service Tshabalala-Msimang’s body will be taken to a crematorium in Benoni on the East Rand.
