Social development minister Edna Molewa says she, together with her cabinet colleagues, welcomes the Sevice Delivery Agreement announced by President Jacob Zuma during his state of the nation address last week.
The agreement to be signed by ministers together with the president will outline the work ministers will do and will outline their targets and specific outcomes.
“We welcome the president’s commitment to out-puts and out-comes. We look forward Mr President to signing performance agreements as ministers, for in the end we owe it to this and future generations, to create a better life for all,” Molewa said.
However leader of the ACDP Kenneth Meshoe argue the efficiency and effectiveness of the proccess, he asked how will this be monitored.
“Will the key outcomes of what ministers will be held accountable for be made public,” Meshoe asked.
Meshoe asked if yes when will they be made public and if no how will the process be transparent.
President Zuma said the work of Departments will be measured by outcomes, developed through the performance monitoring and evaluation system.
The Ministers who are responsible for a particular outcome, will sign a detailed Delivery Agreement with the President.
