Two people wre killed and eleven others were injured when a taxi overturned on the N2between Mew Way and the R300, direction Cape Town.
ER 24 spokesperson Tristan Wadeley says upon arrival of emergency services on the scene ,the taxi was lying on its roof against the centre concrete barrier.
He says it appeared as though some of the occupants of the vehicle were ejected as the taxi overturned.
“Two patients were dead on arrival of paramedics. Eleven others were treated for minor to moderate injuries before being taken to various surrounding hospitals for further treatment,” said Wadeley.
It is believed that one of the taxi's tyres burst ,causing it to overturn.
Police are investigating the incident.
