Two suspects will appear at the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court today after allegedly hijacking a motorist at gunpoint near Sir Lowry Road , Zonnebloem.
Swift action by police led to the suspects’ arrests at Philippi Browns Farm yesterday.
The two face charges of possession of ammunition and stolen property and hijacking.
“Our serious and violent crime unit members, Constables Solomzi Ngunda and Masicole Dyanti raided two shacks with the assistance of Nyanga vispol members and recovered the stripped Hijacked Toyota HiLux bakkie and seized the stripped parts found in the shacks of the suspects,” said Captain Ezra October.
The third suspect is still at large, but is wanted in Wynberg for the theft of a motor vehicle and in Bishop Lavis for reckless and negligent driving.
