Nyanga Police held a three day operation that yielded 105 arrests and traffic fines worth R14 700 were issued.
The operations were carried out in Nyanga, Gugulethu and Philippi East. Captain Ntoboxolo Sitshitshi says in Nyanga alone 74 people were arrested for cases ranging from house and armed robberies, dealing in liquor, assault and the possession of unlicensed firearms.
Computer equipment was also confiscated at a residence in Nyanga.
“Two suspects (16 and 17 years old) were also arrested for stabbing a 15 year old boy of Browns Farm during an argument,” said Sitshitshi.
The suspects will appear in the Athlone Magistrates court today. One of the two suspects also faces a charge of rape.
