A fire has caused hundreds of thousand of rands damage to a well known furniture store in Durban Road, Bellville.
The blaze has destroyed much of the stock in Tafelberg Furnishers and the building has been gutted.
Fire and emergency services are still on the scene as the flames in the ceiling are being doused.
It is not known what caused the fire during the early morning hours, but it is believed a short in one of the electrical appliances could be the culprit.
It was reported the shop was still closed when the fire started. Nobody was injured in the blaze.
