The Health Department has extended its measles and polio campaign for another two weeks in a bid to vaccinate more children.

The campaign, which was launched on 12 April, was due to end today.

However due to labour disruptions in certain Metros which impacted on healthcare service delivery, the department has decided to extend the programme.

By last Friday almost six-millionchildren under the age of 15 had been vaccinated for measles.

Almost two-million babies and toddlers had received polio vaccinations.
