Metro Police operations crack down on illegal narcotic trade

Yesterday the City of Cape Town’s Metro Police together with South African Police Services have conducted several integrated operations with search warrants being executed at suspected drug dens.

12 people were also arrested during the operation.

Also yesterday in a separate operation by the Metro Police Dog Unit and the Tactical Response Unit six search warrants were executed in Macassar.

Where Metro Police Deputy Chief Yolanda Faro says two suspects were arrested for possession of narcotics, and another four were arrested for dealing in narcotics.

In Bonteheuwel, Atlantis and Kraaifontein other six warrants were also executed.

“Six suspects were arrested for possession of narcotics,” Faro said.

In the last operation one motorist was arrested in Atlantis for drunk driving.
