The SA Municipal Workers' Union will decide today whether to continue the countrywide strike by municipal workers. The strike has entered its sixth day.
Samwu and the SA Local Government Association met yesterday to address a few remaining points of contention following positive talks on Wednesday.
Samwu spokesperson Tahir Sema says after today’s meeting the union will report back to its members and get a mandate.
Sema said Samwu decided to strike after Salga failed to implement agreements reached seven years ago about market-related salaries for middle- and lower-income workers.
