A 22 year old man has been arrested in Woodstock for murder. Police spokesperson Sergeant Hilton Malila says the man was arrested in Railway Street, for a murder that was committed at about 01:45 the morning, in Albert road, where a 25 year old man was fatally wounded.

“The arrest follows after an intense investigation into the Murder case, where a 25 year old man was stabbed six times in Albert road Woodstock. The victim sustained stabbed wounds to the chest, arms and back.

“It is been alleged that the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the deceased six times, after an argument. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, and later died due to the injuries sustained,” said Malila.

Malila added the identity of the deceased is not yet known. The motive for the Murder is still being investigated by the Woodstock police.

The suspect currently in police custody will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ court tomorrow on a charge of Murder.
