33 people have been arrested in Mitchell’s Plain while 19 were arrested in Gordon’s Bay for drunk under the influence of alcohol.

Metro Police Deputy Chief Yolanda Faro says on Saturday evening, within the first hour, 15 arrests for drunk driving were made on Spine road.

“The fact that so many drunk drivers were arrested in such a short space of time at a single location, gives us an idea of the extent of the problem.

“We also confiscated 28 packets of Cocaine, eight rocks, ten packets of dagga and a plastic carrier bag of dagga. In Woodstock, the Metro Police’s dog Unit arrested three suspects for the possession of narcotics; this follows the searching of a suspect and the discovering of empty TIK lollies in his possession,” said Faro.
