Villiersdorp police is requesting the assistance of the public in tracing a murder suspect known as Aäron Setona alias “Papie”.
This after a 16 year old girl was murdered at the Morning Glory farm in Villiersdorp yesterday morning.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Sylvester De Long says the girl was walking alone through the orchard to catch a school bus, when she was approached by a male suspect.
“Her parents heard screams out of the orchard. When the father went to investigate he found the suspect still on top of his daughter,” said de Long.
De Long says when help arrived they found her body in the ravine next to a river with several stab wounds.
Police also suspect that the victim was raped.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Investigating officer Detective Constable Hendre Baardman on 079 893 9915 or 028 840 8019.
