Woodstock police have arrested six suspects for armed robbery.
The incident occurred last night in Trill road, Observatory where a complainant was robbed of his belongings at knife point.
Police’s Sergeant Hilton Malila says the arrest follows as police members on routine patrols, reacted swiftly to information received from the complainant in connection with the whereabouts of the suspects.
“When the police officers approached the suspects, they ran in different directions, but were soon arrested afterwards,” said Malila.
He adds during a searched of the suspects, police recovered complainant’s belongings in their possession.
The complainant was robbed of his cellphone and cash.
The suspects then fled on foot.
Malila says the suspects between the ages of 16 and 24 are facing a charge of robbery with aggravated circumstances.
They will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ court tomorrow.
