The National Prosecuting Authority announced this morning that it dropped the case against England soccer fan Pavlos Joseph.
Palvos illegally entered the England team’s changing room at the Cape Town Stadium after the match against Algeria earlier this month.
However accused reporter from the Daily Mirror is back in court today for allegedly orchestrating the security breach and harbouring Joseph while police were searching for him.
The reporter Simon Wright was released after appearing in a special World Cup Court in Cape Town on Monday R3000.
Meanwhile police says effective policing and law enforcement do not solely lie with them.
Police say they intensified their security plans with assistance from government departments and other stakeholders
