Six fled with five firearms

Stellenbosch police is investigating an armed robbery case after six men allegedly robbed five men of their firearms.

Spokesperson Captain Rene Matthee says it is alleged that on Thursday night the suspects armed with knives entered the premises at Beaulla, Claude Nine Farm, Devonval.

“Their faces were covered and they were wearing gloves.

They threatened the victims and demanded the keys to the safe,” said Captain Matthee.

The suspects then tied the victim’s hands with belts and ropes and locked them up in a bathroom.

They fled with five firearms, cellphones, jewellery, two Laptops, a Sony camera and six lenses valued at about R850 000.

Captain Matthee says it is also being investigated how the suspects fled scene.

No arrests have been made since.
