26-year-old Franschhoek wine estate manager, Johan du Toit appeared in the local magistrate’s court yesterday in connection with the murder of his wife, Chanel du Toit.
Du Toit was found strangled to death at her home on the Dieu Donné wine estate few weeks ago.
Her husband was the last person to see her alive before leaving their home in the early hours of that morning on a hunting trip to Springbok.
The lawyer representing the accused said his client is doing well, considering the circumstances
William Booth, the lawyer, says his client is obviously quite upset for being accused of murdering his wife and this has a bad effect on his family.
Booth added that he’s expecting to receive bail on Wednesday and he stays positive.
