Lusanda Bill
14 July 2010
Jackie Selebi, Former National Police Commissioner will be back in court today.
The start of his sentencing procedures will be taking place in the Johannesburg High Court.
On the 2nd of July Jackie was found guilty on chargers of corruption when he received payment from convicted drug trafficker Glenn Agliotti.
Judge Meyer Joffe did not find Selebi guilty of defeating the ends of justice.
It has been stated in media reports that Jackie Selebi could spent 15 years in jail.
The Former National Police Commissioner’s lawyers will today argue for a reduced sentence, and if that fails then they will focus on his age, health status and record in the ANC.
