An off duty ER24 paramedic was sitting at home in Parklands when a neighbour came knocking on her door and informed her that a lady in the complex was giving birth.

The off duty paramedic had no medical equipment with her but agreed to assist in the delivery.

When she arrived at the flat one baby had already been delivered but was not breathing. The paramedic performed layman's CPR and managed to revive the baby.

A second baby (twin) was also delivered and was in a stable condition. The babies were transported to New Somerset Hospital for the necessary further care.
