On Sunday a man crashed into and killed two pedestrians while under the influence of alcohol at the corners of Strandfontein Road and Fifth Avenue in Grassy Park.
The 24 year old man then drove for a kilometre with one of the bodies on his car with police chasing him. He will face charges of culpable homicide and drunk driving. The man will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court today.
Grassy Park Police spokesman Ian Warrant Officer Leibowitz said the two pedestrians, a man and women were yet to be identified.
Meanwhile, Netcare 911 spokeswoman Lauren Copley said when paramedics arrived they found both pedestrians were dead and still lying in the street.
